In our high school days, Wilbert and his family lived a half mile south of Greenfield on Highway 25. We were on the same bus route. Wilbert, I believe was the 2nd child, younger than Francis, but older than Linda and Ronnie. He was always quiet. Five years ago, I did call Wilbert and went to visit him at Maple Village. He was still the quiet, non-assuming guy I remembered from high school. This family had a really tough 'row to hoe' and I know that Wilbert was an extremely hard worker who overcame a lot of disadvantages.
